Science

We had a fun week being scientists with a week filled with experiments.

On Monday we mixed cornstarch and water to make oobleck.

For some extra fun we turned a box into a fishing boat and we made yummy root beer floats during snack time!

Tuesday we mixed water, oil, alka seltzer tablets and food coloring to make our own lava lamps.

 

Thursday we discovered what happened when you mix baking soda and vinegar. 

 

Space Fun

We had a blast in outer space this week!

On Monday we colored and cut out planets and glued them to a paper plate we had painted, so we had our own solar system. 

Tuesday we wrote our names or drew pictures with white crayons on black paper, then glued stars onto our pictures to look like constellations. 

Wednesday we all became astronauts when made our own helmets.

Thursday we made fun space aliens. 

We had a fun activity of sorting items by their sizes, and some lego fun!

 

Mystery/Super Sleuth

We had mysterious week pretending to by spies and detectives. 

We got to paint pictures with ice cubes.

We decorated cups and planted some seeds. We can't wait to see if our flowers bloom!

We made our snack one day, pizza crescent roll ups!

We had a lot of fun playing 'I Spy' in our sensory table.

Some friends were making paper airplanes.

We had a blast dressing up as super heros too!

Magic

We had a magical week being magicians and wizards! 

For make it monday, we made bracelets and necklaces with some string and beads.

 We made magic wands on Wednesday to practice our magician skills

 We also made our own playdoh that we got to take home!

 We used cookie cutters to cut shapes out of watermelon for our snack!

On Thursday we wrote messages on paper with white crayon and painted over with watercolors to see our secret message! We also made paintings with colored ice cubes!

           

 We had fun building houses with the magnet blocks!

Wild West

We had a blast this week pretending to be cowboys and cowgirls in the wild west! In our dramatic play area, we rode horses, and got to create our own horse farm. We made a cowboy/cowgirl hat that we got to wear, we painted and created our own cactus, made an egg shell snake, and an armadillo! As a bonus project, we got to make a tissue paper painting!
