Children's Fair Date Correction

Oops! On our April Newsletter, we listed the Edgerton Children's Fair as being on 4/21 but that was last year's date.

This year the Children's Fair is on Saturday, April 13th from 9:30 - 11:30am in the large gym at Community Elementary.

Be sure to stop by and say "Hi" to Mrs. Fox & Mrs. Crandall and make a fun craft with them :)

The Circus came to preschool!

We had a blast this week learning about the circus!! On Monday and Tuesday we made handprint elephants.  Our friends were asked to color and draw the inside of the circus tent so we could paint our elephants on them. It was neat to watch what they created!
On Wednesday and Thursday we made shape clowns! It was such fun to use shapes to make such a silly little clown face!
On Friday we made a tight rope walker. Ask your child to show you how she walks on the rope!  We set up a circus tent with some games to play.
Our friends were extra busy this week. They helped Ms. Tiffany put togeather some bulletin boards! It was a super fun week!

Oh the places we have been!

It's that time again.... Time to celebrate Dr. Suess! Grab a book snuggle in with your little one enjoy some one on one time and help us celebrate! Since Saturday is his Birthday our theme this week was yep you guessed it Dr. Suess!  On Monday and Tuesday we had a great time getting down and dirty with our One Fish Two Fish books!  We were amazed at how our handprints could look like fish. It was also pretty fun to wash our hands after since each hand was painted a different color, our red and blue hands turned the water PURPLE!
On Wendesday preschool was canceled due to the 2 hour delay. Please remember to watch the local weather stations for school delays and closings! Remember we follow the Edgerton School Districts closings and delays.
On Thursday we made ourselves into Thing 1 and Thing 2! Oh what fun that was! We had blue hair and bendy arms and legs! We also made strawberry banana hats! Our snack was such fun, we got to make a pattern with our fruit and when we were done it looked like the Cat in the hat's hat!

We HEART Friends!

‘Tis the season for sickness! We apologize for the lack of blog posts lately; this season’s sickness has kept many students and teachers home throughout the last few weeks.
Here's what has been going on this week:

Our color this week was white! Did your child tell you about the white items our friends brought?
Our theme this week was Friendship.
On Monday we made friendship trees. Our hand-print made the branches and our arm made the trunk. We got creative and made a heart shaped stamp using toilet paper rolls!

On Wednesday we had our Valentine’s/Friendship Party. It was a blast! Our project was “Heart-Man.”  We practiced our cutting and accordion folding.
Next, we did a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt. Here are the clues we found.

We had such a great time with our friends.
Next week our theme is construction. The color of the week is brown.
We plan to have LOADS of fun next week!

Winter Fun!

We have been having so much fun since we returned back to school from winter break!  We had our holiday parties on January 2nd and 3rd. We talked about trains and had lots of fun with our friends and talking about our break from school and everything we did.
Last week our theme was SNOW FUN! We laced a snowman, it was hard work and we are very proud of them! We made a snowy tree scene with cotton balls. We used our muscles in our fingers to pull the cotton balls apart. On Friday we made very cool sparkly icicles!
This week our theme is POLAR BEARS!  We are making some very cool shaving cream bears! We got a little messy, but that just means we are having fun and learning!  We also will be making a really neat polar bear on ice! Its a short week this week because Monday was an in service day!
Please remember we do have preschool on early release days because unlike 4K the early release doesn't affect us. However we do not have preschool on days that Edgerton Schools do not have school!

Happy Holidays

Last week we explored the books of Jan Brett. We had so much fun reading about the silly animals cuddling up together in the mitten. Then we made our own mitten and animals. We also read about Hedgie the hedge hog, he's a pretty neat guy! We ended our week reading the Gingerbread Baby. We had lots of fun decorating our own gingerbread babies. We also had a new student join our Yellow class a great big welcome to Lauren! This week we began our Holidays around the world unit. We are learning about so many different holidays people celebrate. Throughout this unit we will be putting together a Holiday shape book. We are very busy this week and next week getting our books ready as well as other special projects getting our room ready for our Holiday party! Everyone is so very excited for the holidays! Don't forget to wear your Pajamas on Thursday Dec. 20th and Friday Dec 21! If you would like to bring in a special treat for the holidays these are the days to do so!

Opposites Week!

Wow November is over already this year is flying by! We had such a fun week learning about Opposites! On Monday and Tuesday we had paper on the top and the bottom of the table and we took turns drawing pictures. It was neat to see how different it was to draw o n paper that was taped to the bottom of the tables! We also used our senses for our smooth and rough colleague. On Friday we talked about Big and Little! We ended our week wearing the opposite of what we usually wear on a school day OUR PAJAMAS!! We began our week with a great big surprise our new art center arrived!! If your child has been bringing home more art work than usual that is why many of the children have been spending their free choice time in our new art center!!
