Down By the Pond

April showers have hit us this week that is for sure!  This week we talked about PONDS! Ask your child what lives in a pond. We had fun talking all about the different animals and creatures that live in and around ponds.  On Monday and Tuesday we made a lily pad with a dragon fly! We worked on our fine motor skills folding the dragon fly's wings. On Wednesday and Thursday we used doppers and our hand prints to make a super fun frog! Our frogs even have a long curly tongue! On Friday we made a turtle using a bowl we painted and pom poms. We hopped like frogs from circle time to our chairs. During free choice time we dressed up in hats and rubber boots and worked in our flower garden! It was such a fun week! We are all excited to begin our Nursery Rhyme unit next week! Don't forget the letter of the week will be the letter Ff.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!!

Last week we talked about spring! What great time we had talking about spring as the weather became nicer and the snow melted! We had such a fun snack on April fool's day. We enjoyed vanilla yogurt with half a peach on top. It fooled us it sure looked like an egg! We made happy rain clouds that hang over our duck in rain gear! We also made a great big flower. Each child was able to pick the shapes they put on their flower petals. We ended the week by making a cute little nest and using bingo doppers to make a chick inside it. We had a lot of fun outside playing with the coupe cars since the weather was nice!
Please remember to continue sending boots! Boots are very important as the playground is all muddy due to all the melted snow and the rain! Also check to be sure your child has an appropriate change of clothes in their backpack each day! Shirt, Pants, Underwear, and Socks. You never know when there will be a spill, accident, or just getting wet outside.

Spring Picture Day is Thursday, April 25th

If your child is in the Red Class and doesn't attend daycare at CAC that day, you are welcome to come in between 8-11am to have his/her picture taken.

Children's Fair Date Correction

Be sure to stop by and say "Hi" to Mrs. Fox & Mrs. Crandall and make a fun craft with them :)

We HEART Friends!

‘Tis the season for sickness! We apologize for the lack of blog posts lately; this season’s sickness has kept many students and teachers home throughout the last few weeks.
Here's what has been going on this week:

Our color this week was white! Did your child tell you about the white items our friends brought?
Our theme this week was Friendship.
On Monday we made friendship trees. Our hand-print made the branches and our arm made the trunk. We got creative and made a heart shaped stamp using toilet paper rolls!

On Wednesday we had our Valentine’s/Friendship Party. It was a blast! Our project was “Heart-Man.”  We practiced our cutting and accordion folding.
Next, we did a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt. Here are the clues we found.

We had such a great time with our friends.
Next week our theme is construction. The color of the week is brown.
We plan to have LOADS of fun next week!
